Illius Design Studio was founded in 2004 by Sheragim Ghaeini and Amir Yazdi in Tehran, Iran. Initially named Square Design, Illius was relaunched in 2009 after its creators spent two years in India.

It was during that time the group changed its name to Illius, meaning youth in Latin.

The team members’ ideas inspired Indian companies to work with them as both designers and photographers.
